Duties and Responsibilities:

The senior fire protection will perform engineering-related tasks and manage a project team. This position requires an extensive ability to manage multiple projects and to work both independently and as part of a team.

The position includes the following duties:

Application of engineering and scientific principles to solve problems for a variety of clients.

Application of fire/building codes and technical standards to projects.

Creating technical procedures and forms to assist with increasing quality control and efficiency.

Creating plans, performing calculations, and writing technical specifications for fire protection systems.

Creating life safety plans and code reports.

Writing of technical reports.

Management of a Project Team.

Conducting on-site surveys and inspections of existing facilities and facilities under construction.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related engineering discipline.

Professional Engineering licensure or ability to obtain it in a reasonable amount of time.

Experience in project and team management.

Experience in fire protection or other related engineering industry.

Proficient knowledge of NFPA standards and fire/building codes.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and other related software used for engineering tasks.

Ability to clearly and concisely relate information, in both verbal and written communications, in a professional manner.

Ability to manage time efficiently to meet project deadlines and to perform technical tasks as assigned.

Ability to perform site visits, surveys, and inspections with extended periods of walking and physical activity in all types of weather conditions.

Ability to conduct all work safely and efficiently.

Ability to work remotely from home.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Senior Fire Sprinkler Designer will perform fire sprinkler-related tasks both under the direction of a licensed fire protection engineer and independently, as required for specific projects. This position requires an extensive ability to manage multiple projects and to work both independently and as part of a team. The responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following duties:

Design and layout of fire suppression sprinkler systems for engineering conceptual and bid design packages.

Design of fire suppression sprinkler systems for federal projects.

Review of shop-level drawings from fire sprinkler contractors for code compliance.

Application of engineering and scientific principles related to fire suppression to solve problems for a variety of clients.

Assisting licensed fire protection engineers and their teams with project tasks involving fire sprinklers and integration with other fire and life safety systems.

Application of fire/building codes and technical standards to projects.

Creating technical procedures, checklists, and forms to assist with increasing quality control and efficiency including the development of fire sprinkler CAD standards.

Creating plans, performing calculations, and writing technical specifications for fire protection systems.

Writing of technical reports.

Conducting on-site surveys and inspections of existing fire sprinkler systems and facilities under construction.

Job Requirements:

Minimum of ten (10) years experience in fire sprinkler design with at least three (3) years of design management experience.

Extensive knowledge of NFPA standards, local fire/building codes, and other codes and standards as they relate to fire alarm systems.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, AutoSprink, HydraCAD, and other related software used for engineering tasks.

Ability to clearly and concisely relate information, in both verbal and written communications, in a professional manner.

Ability to manage time efficiently to meet project deadlines and to perform technical tasks assigned by licensed engineers.

Job Requirements:

FCC GROL License or ability to obtain one within six (6) months.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, EASE Evac, IBWave, and other related software used for engineering tasks.

Ability to clearly and concisely relate information, in both verbal and written communications, in a professional manner.
