Wood Processing Fire Protection Evaluation
Connecting wood storage and sprinkler protection with the dust-producing operations inside the facility.
The project
An existing wood processing operation required an evaluation of its occupancy, stored materials, and protection provisions. The review also needed to recognize that manufacturing activity introduced dust considerations beyond the storage of the finished product.
Our approach
WFPE considered the lumber commodities, storage arrangement, and existing sprinkler system. A limited dust evaluation addressed the described collection equipment and administrative practices for monitoring and controlling accumulation. The scope connected those operating practices with the fire protection assessment without representing the work as an unrestricted process-wide dust hazard analysis.
What we delivered
The report documented the evaluated manufacturing and storage conditions, including the limited dust review. It gave the owner a written basis for the described use and identified changes in operations or storage as reasons for further evaluation.
