Warehouse Sprinkler Retrofit Basis
Developing sprinkler criteria from a site survey of a warehouse that lacked the proposed protection system.
The project
An existing warehouse needed a fire protection basis for a new sprinkler installation. WFPE surveyed the stored commodities and discussed operating needs to establish the conditions that the proposed system would have to address.
Our approach
The analysis classified the inventory and defined the storage arrangement used for the protection evaluation. It considered sprinkler clearance and the treatment of an unused portion of the building, with separation conditions identified where that area was excluded from the proposed protection scope.
What we delivered
WFPE delivered recommendations for the required sprinkler protection and the conditions supporting the proposed arrangement. The report established an engineering basis for the retrofit, with compliance dependent on completing the described installation and related work.
