Warehouse Hydrant Supply Evaluation
Following the available water supply through the site piping to evaluate the demand at the fire hydrants.
The project
An office and warehouse development needed its site fire water supply evaluated as the civil design took shape. WFPE reviewed the supplied flow test and utility information to determine how the proposed private fire main would affect the water available at the hydrants.
Our approach
The analysis considered the required fire flow, piping arrangement, elevation changes, and losses through the service components. Those conditions were modeled together so the assessment reflected the route water would take through the proposed site, rather than relying only on the pressure measured at the public connection.
What we delivered
WFPE prepared a report documenting the evaluated hydrant demand and the ability of the available supply to serve it under the stated assumptions. Sprinkler calculations prepared by another firm were outside this analysis; the engagement focused on the site hydrant supply.
