Tool Distribution Storage Review
Documenting how an existing sprinklered tenant space would be used for tools, parts, and related distribution inventory.
The project
A distributor needed an occupancy and commodity evaluation for a tenant space containing offices, warehouse storage, and associated operations. WFPE reviewed the stored products and their planned arrangement to establish the fire protection basis for that use.
Our approach
The assessment classified the inventory and considered pallet racks, shelf storage, aisle spacing, and clearance below the existing sprinklers. It also reviewed the available system information, portable extinguishers, egress provisions, and limited cleaning and maintenance materials. Structural rack documents were provided by a separate engineering firm.
What we delivered
WFPE issued an occupancy and commodity letter recording the evaluated conditions. The report also identified future changes in inventory or storage methods as a reason to revisit the evaluation, keeping the documented use tied to the conditions actually reviewed.
