Technology Inventory Rack Expansion

Checking a new rack arrangement against both the stored technology inventory and the sprinkler system in the field.

The project

A warehouse planned additional racking for technology equipment and components. The available information included a commodity schedule, racking drawings, and sprinkler plans, making it possible to connect the proposed inventory with the building’s documented protection.

Our approach

WFPE evaluated the classifications and storage arrangement and field-verified the sprinkler drawings received. The assessment addressed the relationship between storage height, sprinkler clearance, and the permitted commodity types. It also identified structural rack approval as a separate requirement, keeping the fire protection evaluation distinct from structural engineering.

What we delivered

Our report documented the evaluated storage arrangement and its fire protection basis. It gave the team a coordinated record of the inventory, layout, and verified sprinkler information, with the remaining rack approval responsibility clearly identified.
