Specialty Packaged Commodity Storage
Evaluating a specialty product in its original packaging against warehouse storage and sprinkler criteria.
The project
A specialty distributor needed an occupancy and storage assessment for packaged products. The evaluated use involved storage and distribution in original containers, with no production activities in the facility.
Our approach
WFPE established the commodity basis and assessed the rack and floor storage arrangement, flue spaces, access, and sprinkler clearance. The review connected the packaging conditions to the existing sprinkler protection, including the restrictions associated with shelving and containers.
What we delivered
The classification letter documented the evaluated warehouse use and its protection assumptions. The result was a specific storage basis tied to the described product and packaging, rather than an unrestricted conclusion covering manufacturing or different handling methods.
