Production Tenant Sprinkler Upgrade Basis
Identifying the protection criteria needed when a production tenant’s storage exceeded the existing system’s evaluated basis.
The project
A tenant planned production areas and storage within an existing sprinklered building. The existing sprinkler arrangement needed to be considered against the proposed commodities and rack storage rather than assumed suitable simply because sprinklers were present.
Our approach
WFPE classified the materials and packaging, documented the storage arrangements, and evaluated the existing protection criteria. The report identified sprinkler modifications intended to support the proposed use, along with storage limits and the assumptions behind the materials evaluation. The work connected the tenant’s operating plan with the protection changes described in the report.
What we delivered
WFPE delivered an occupancy and commodity analysis establishing the basis for the proposed sprinkler improvements. The story is the engineering definition of the required protection and operating conditions; the report did not establish that the modifications had been installed or commissioned.
