Production & Sanitation Materials
Evaluating the production floor and the materials used to keep it operating as parts of the same fire protection assessment.
The project
A production and packaging facility combined manufacturing, finished-product storage, and a dedicated area for process support chemicals. WFPE evaluated these uses together while distinguishing the chemical storage conditions from the materials’ use in the production process.
Our approach
The review considered the commodity classifications, storage arrangements, manufacturing operations, and hazardous material inventory. It also examined the protection and separation provisions for the chemical storage area, including the relationship between concentrated stored materials and the conditions described for their use.
What we delivered
WFPE delivered an occupancy and commodity evaluation documenting the facility’s uses and the associated fire protection and life safety provisions. The report made the process support materials part of the facility assessment rather than limiting the review to the products being manufactured.
