Parts Logistics Container Evaluation
Accounting for crates, cartons, and plastic bins in a parts distribution operation.
The project
A logistics tenant stored parts using several types of containers and packaging. The protection question depended on both the product and what surrounded it, particularly where noncombustible parts were held in plastic bins.
Our approach
WFPE evaluated the inventory classifications, palletized storage arrangements, pile dimensions, and clearance to the existing sprinkler system. The review connected the packaging assumptions with the sprinkler protection criteria and the access provisions for the tenant space.
What we delivered
The occupancy and commodity report documented the assessed container and storage conditions. It gave the operator a defined basis for the proposed logistics use and a reason to revisit the analysis when packaging or inventory arrangements changed.
