Manufacturing Sprinkler Coordination
Bringing sprinkler engineering into the shared building model so fire protection is coordinated with the manufacturing facility design.
The project
Manufacturing projects require fire protection to fit within a broader building design. WFPE’s engagement combined sprinkler engineering with consulting and building information modeling coordination, allowing the protection approach and its physical layout to be considered as part of the same project process.
Our approach
We evaluated fire protection requirements, developed sprinkler layouts and hydraulic calculations, and prepared the engineering details supporting the design. Participation in coordination meetings and the building model connected that documentation with the work of the other disciplines. The assignment included both the technical analysis of the sprinkler system and the coordination needed to represent it within the developing facility design.
What we delivered
WFPE produced coordinated sprinkler design documentation supported by engineering analysis and interdisciplinary coordination. The project illustrates how our design role extends from calculations and details into the shared planning of the building systems.
