Maintenance Component Distribution
Defining the protection basis for a component distributor using a combination of racks and palletized storage.
The project
A distributor planned warehouse storage for repair and maintenance components. WFPE evaluated the variety of products and packaging alongside the proposed low storage arrangements within a sprinklered tenant space.
Our approach
The review addressed commodity classes, rack and floor storage, aisle widths, flue spaces, and clearance to sprinklers. It also considered the limited ancillary materials associated with office and maintenance activities. The evaluation tied the protection basis to the inventory and arrangement described for the project.
What we delivered
The classification report documented the conditions supporting the warehouse use. It provided a defined operating basis, with changes in commodities or storage practices requiring reevaluation of the fire protection assumptions.
