Industrial Supply Storage Expansion
Sorting a mixed inventory into protection and storage conditions as a supplier expanded its tenant space.
The project
An industrial supplier expanded into adjacent space with an inventory that included tools, construction products, plastics, and limited aerosols. WFPE evaluated the expanded use against the building’s existing sprinkler protection and the applicable storage criteria.
Our approach
The assessment distinguished commodity classes and their permitted storage arrangements, considered segregated aerosol storage, and reviewed the existing sprinkler design information. It also recommended hydraulic modeling to better establish the system’s capability for certain higher-hazard commodities. That recommendation kept the limits of the available protection information visible.
What we delivered
The occupancy and commodity report documented storage conditions, material limits, and the additional analysis recommended for the sprinkler system. It provided a practical basis for the expansion while preserving the unresolved hydraulic evaluation as further work.
