Industrial Dust Hazard Review
An independent engineering review of a submitted dust hazard analysis for an industrial process.
The project
An industrial process had a dust hazard analysis prepared by another party. WFPE’s assignment was to provide an independent review of that submission against the applicable fire and explosion protection requirements, adding a separate engineering evaluation to the documentation process.
Our approach
We reviewed the submitted analysis within its stated scope and considered the applicable combustible-dust, explosion protection, and related electrical criteria. Our role was to evaluate the analysis presented, with the review recommendation tied to the referenced documents and requirements. That scope kept authorship of the original analysis distinct from the independent review.
What we delivered
WFPE issued a technical review letter recommending approval of the submitted analysis within the evaluated scope. Installation and later changes remained subject to applicable requirements. The deliverable was a documented independent review position, rather than certification of an installed process system.
