Healthcare Fire Barrier Corrections
Tracing healthcare deficiencies through concealed assemblies, documented corrections, and targeted verification.
The project
A healthcare facility needed to address identified fire and life safety deficiencies. Some conditions were concealed above ceilings or behind insulation, so the evaluation depended on gaining access to the assemblies and understanding how the barriers, penetrations, and openings were constructed.
Our approach
WFPE evaluated the accessible conditions and used a documentation matrix to connect deficiencies with corrective work. The scope included rated walls, doors, joints, access panels, and related life safety items, with an engineering judgment addressing a particular assembly condition. Follow-up observations considered whether the reported corrections matched the conditions being evaluated.
What we delivered
The report documented the corrected assemblies and observed conditions within the limited inspection scope. It provided a record of the corrective effort while clearly bounding the conclusions to the work inspected, rather than certifying unrelated systems or concealed areas that were not evaluated.
