Hazardous Warehouse Life Safety Assessment
Reconciling building records with field conditions at an existing hazardous-material warehouse.
The project
An existing warehouse required a fire and life safety evaluation for hazardous-material distribution. The available records described different construction classifications, making the building’s actual fire-resistance basis a central question.
Our approach
WFPE evaluated the documents and observed conditions, including fire barriers, structural protection, and fire protection systems within the assigned scope. The assessment identified the need for further field verification and testing to establish the construction classification. It also documented system and maintenance-related findings requiring attention.
What we delivered
The engineering report provided corrective recommendations and identified the evidence needed to resolve the building-record discrepancy. Its conclusions remained bounded by the defined fire and life safety scope and the conditions still requiring verification.
