Food Ingredient Container Storage
Accounting for bags, cartons, pails, drums, and totes within a food-ingredient warehouse.
The project
A warehouse planned to store raw and processed ingredients in several container types. WFPE evaluated how packaging and storage methods affected the classification of the inventory and the protection arrangement.
Our approach
The report distinguished bagged and cartoned products from products in plastic pails and larger liquid containers. It reviewed the proposed stacking arrangements, clearance to sprinklers, and the existing protection system. Those distinctions connected the product inventory with the way it would occupy the warehouse.
What we delivered
WFPE provided an occupancy and commodity analysis for the described storage use. The deliverable established the evaluated container and arrangement assumptions, giving the operator a basis for recognizing when a different packaging or storage method required further review.
