Existing Warehouse Storage & Access Review
Using existing-system calculations to assess storage while separately identifying needed fire department access improvements.
The project
A warehouse proposed a defined rack storage arrangement within an existing building. WFPE evaluated both the sprinkler capability and the access provisions needed for that storage use.
Our approach
The analysis considered commodity packaging, rack heights, clearance, and the capacity of the existing sprinkler system using hydraulic calculations. It also identified fire department access conditions requiring modification. The report kept those access improvements visible even where the evaluated sprinkler protection supported the described commodities and arrangement.
What we delivered
WFPE documented the storage basis and the required access work in an occupancy and commodity report. The result connected system capability with operational and building conditions, without presenting the recommended access modifications as already completed.
