Emergency Facility Alarm Testing
Documenting alarm performance, specification deviations, and the equipment that remained unavailable for testing.
The project
An emergency services facility reached the final inspection stage for its alarm system. The assignment required WFPE to observe system functions and record the conditions that affected the scope of verification.
Our approach
The documented work included inspection of the installation, initiating and notification device testing, audibility and intelligibility readings, radio transmission, circuit integrity, and review of the contractor’s standby battery test. The inspection record also identified deviations from the specifications and equipment that was not yet installed and therefore could not be tested.
What we delivered
WFPE’s inspection documentation brought the witnessed tests, observed deviations, and unverified interface together in one record. The story of the engagement is the defined testing scope and its limitations, preserving the distinction between tested functions and work requiring later verification.
