Electrical Supply Storage Evaluation
Distinguishing electrical equipment, cable, conduit, and packaging within a distributor’s protection basis.
The project
An electrical supplier proposed rack and shelf storage in an existing sprinklered building. Its inventory included metal equipment and products containing plastics, making commodity classification an important step in assessing the storage.
Our approach
WFPE evaluated the materials, rack arrangement, storage height, and sprinkler clearance. The report connected the inventory with the existing sprinkler system and referenced the separate rack engineering documentation provided for the project. The fire protection evaluation remained distinct from structural design of the racks.
What we delivered
The classification letter documented the assessed storage and protection conditions. It provided the distributor with an operating basis for the proposed arrangement and identified product or storage changes as reasons to review the analysis again.
