Distribution Occupancy Evaluation
Evaluating how an expanding tenant’s inventory and storage arrangements fit the protection available in its space.
The project
A distribution tenant’s expansion introduced different storage conditions across the occupied space. WFPE evaluated the use and prepared occupancy and commodity documentation addressing inspection comments, with attention to the distinction between high-piled and other storage areas.
Our approach
Our review classified the commodities, considered storage arrangements against the existing sprinkler protection, and examined hazardous-material inventory information. The evaluation connected the tenant’s proposed operations with the conditions and limits used in the fire protection assessment. That included recognizing that different stored products and different parts of the space could require different treatment.
What we delivered
The resulting occupancy and commodity classification letter documented the evaluated use, storage parameters, and protection assumptions. It gave the project team a written response to the occupancy and storage questions without implying that the letter itself issued a certificate of occupancy.
