Delivery Hub Ventilation & Use
Evaluating a delivery operation where vehicles entered a building for sorting and loading.
The project
A delivery hub moved packages through a building and into vehicles positioned for loading. WFPE evaluated the operating pattern, distinguishing the described sorting activity from long-term vehicle or bulk inventory storage.
Our approach
The report considered occupancy classification, the transient package inventory, conveyor clearances, and the conditions under which vehicles would run indoors. Ventilation and gas-detection provisions were addressed as part of the documented operating basis. The evaluation also considered the building’s sprinkler protection and access.
What we delivered
WFPE delivered a classification report connecting the handling process with its fire and life safety provisions. Its conclusions were tied to the described operating practices, with changes in use or storage requiring further evaluation.
