Conveyor Sorting Occupancy Evaluation
Defining the storage and housekeeping assumptions behind a package-sorting facility.
The project
A logistics tenant used conveyors and roller tables to transfer packaged goods between incoming shipments and delivery vehicles. WFPE evaluated the facility around that movement of products, including the limited circumstances in which packages would remain overnight.
Our approach
The assessment documented commodity categories, the exclusion of bulk rack storage, and the need to keep the space beneath handling equipment clear. It considered the associated vehicle operating conditions, ventilation provisions, sprinkler protection, and fire department access.
What we delivered
The occupancy and commodity letter established the evaluated sorting operation and its limits. It gave the operator a written basis connecting housekeeping and storage practices with the protection assumptions used in the assessment.
