Building Products Low-Piled Storage
Defining storage and material limits for a building-products inventory while identifying the need for sprinkler verification.
The project
A building-products supplier planned to operate within a low-piled storage arrangement. Its mixed inventory included ordinary commodities, plastics, and limited hazardous products, so maintaining the evaluated use required more than a single maximum rack height.
Our approach
WFPE classified the inventory and documented storage heights, clearances, flue spaces, aisles, and material quantity limits. The assessment also addressed outdoor storage conditions. Because sprinkler drawings had not been reviewed, the report identified field verification of the protection system as necessary follow-up.
What we delivered
The resulting report established the proposed storage basis and the assumptions requiring confirmation. It gave the owner defined operating parameters while preserving the distinction between the commodity analysis and verification of the existing sprinkler system.
