Battery-Powered Equipment Operations
Evaluating how batteries used with equipment affected a production and maintenance tenant’s code basis.
The project
A tenant planned production, maintenance, and testing of battery-powered equipment. WFPE assessed the described operation, including the limited battery inventory and the way batteries were installed, handled, and temporarily stored during the work.
Our approach
The evaluation considered the equipment use, commodity classifications, storage conditions, and existing sprinkler protection. It examined the code provisions applicable to the described battery activities, keeping the assessment tied to those specific operational circumstances rather than treating all battery storage alike.
What we delivered
WFPE documented the occupancy and protection basis for the evaluated operation. The report established the inventory and use assumptions behind the conclusion, with changes in battery activities or quantities requiring further review.
