Amenity Building Water Demand
Finding which building and system conditions actually govern a residential development’s fire water demand.
The project
A residential development combined dwelling buildings with a shared amenity building. The fire area driving the site fire flow requirement and the location creating the most demanding sprinkler condition were not the same, so a single building assumption would not describe both demands.
Our approach
WFPE evaluated the site hydrant requirement and separately examined the hydraulically remote sprinkler demand. The analysis accounted for the proposed utility network, service losses, and the amenity building’s sprinkler requirements using the supplied water test and project plans.
What we delivered
The report documented adequate supply for the analyzed conditions without supplemental pumping. By distinguishing the governing hydrant and sprinkler cases, the work gave the design team a clearer basis for coordinating the site utilities and building fire protection systems.
